Ian Morland

I became a member of the IAM in 1974. Over the years I have held several positions in the union including Chief Shop Steward and General Chairperson. I am currently the Organizer for IAM District 140.

I provided professional leadership to the members of the IAM in WSIB, the grievance and arbitration process, pension planning and collective bargaining to name a few.

I have personally experienced many of the problems facing our membership when working with large companies as they restructure to compete on the world stage.

As an organizer for the IAM I continue to provide the same high level of energy when working with new members joining the IAM.

I joined the IAM in 1982. I was employed by Ford Electronics and still am a member of Local lodge 2113. I have served in many different roles such as: Steward, Chief Steward, Vice President and Contract Negotiations and President of District Lodge 78 in Toronto.

In 1988, I was elected to District Business Representative and also assigned to the Organizing Department from 1988 until 1995. When I was then assigned to Servicing until 2000.

In 2000, I became a Grand Lodge Representative and still hold that title today. I deal with many different issues and would be glad to answer any of your questions.
